Who will you get to repair your washer or cooker?
Hi my name is Richard Saupe (Yes that was my birth name and a very apt one for washer repairs!)
I’ve been repairing washing machines, ovens and dishwashers now for over 10 years and loved every minute of it. When I started I didn’t have a clue how to repair anything, but just knew I had to do it!
There were 2 guiding reasons!
-
I was absolutely appalled at the level of quality appliance engineers actually out there whom were not trained at all, not only that but they had very un savory customer care policies and were charging through the roof as well, even though they had little more experience than the customer. In essence they were being paid over £50 an hour to be trained and to bodge!

When I started looking into doing the repairs and getting trained, I just fell in love with it, because it satisfied two needs I have, Need 1, it gave me a sense of achievement having a trade and being able to fix appliances! Need 2, I just love to be around people and meet new interesting people! ( I don’t know if it’s just me, but all my clients are fantastic and very interesting people. I’ve met and chatted with 1000’s of clients from all walks of life!
Everyone has their own individual and amazing story and I really loved hearing them, how people survive on shirts buttons to how people can turn a few grains into millions, all stories are exceptional and show how people are diverse and imaginative!
When I started my company "Richards Boot sale washers" in 2000, I was selling old hotpoint washers, from £49, I too had no traininglike so many others, But I did have a passion to be the best, so I started by stripping machines down and rebuilding and testing all with the aid of a washing machine Haynes manual and several other guides!
Next I did a search for appliance training and did a deal with the instructor and embarked on proper training, the main thing I learnt from the training was the necessity for safe practices and how to use various technical equipment for speedy and safe repair! Obviously I completed my trainings at the top of my class and I'm the only one still in business ( the others mainly quit before 6 months were up, due to poor marketing and too much competition, I just had so much passion for the job and my reasons for doing it, insanity I know, but it paid off for me).
10 years on, loads of trainings later, 2 shops gone and 7 engineers tried (2 best ones remain, Paul with 20+ years and Lee with 5+ years). Now working from an office in my home and hopefully answering your calls for repairs to electrical appliances Essex and some of Suffolk!
When you call Appliance repairman ltd, your call will be answered by me directly and I will endeavour to give you the best advice for your unique circumstances based on 10 years+ experience and over 50’000 (Yes fifty thousand) phone conversations!
Pet hates! I don’t like charging people for small jobs they can do themselves easily, like changing light bulbs and cleaning filters. So I always try to advise people how to do things themselves to save their valuable resources for better things than repair bills.
Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!
Warmest regards
Richard Saupe
